[Technical Proposal Example] Proposal for Extending the Lifespan of Special Tooling (Center Head for Lathes)

We propose the addition of precise management tolerances! Here, we will introduce a case of successful manufacturing of long-lasting carbide tools.

We would like to introduce a case where the lifespan of a lathe center head was extended by changing the material from high-speed steel to carbide. The customer in question approached us because the lifespan of their currently used lathe center head was short and they wanted to change the material to carbide (originally high-speed steel). We proposed adding precise management tolerances by measuring the taper section to 11° (to align the holder and center head). This was achieved by precisely machining what was originally managed in degrees to ±5’.
